A few notes on my CV…

Below are the opportunities, experience, and projects that I’ve been involved in during my academic and professional career. As a newly minted wildlife professional, I have much to grow and learn from, however, I’ve had the great pleasure to expand my leadership and technical involvement in recent years to create a diverse platform of skills.

 Work Experience

  • Estes Park, CO | April 2023 - October 2023

For the summer season of 2023, I served as a Stewards Individual Placement intern through Conservation Legacy. My placement was within Rocky Mountain National Park and the workgroup I was involved with was the Elk & Vegetation Management Program. Through this internship I had the opportunity to explore both wildlife and vegetation assignments, from detailed plant surveys to large mammal captures.

  • Fort Collins, CO | January 2023 - March 2023

Throughout the winter season of 2023, I worked as a bookseller for Front Range Community College. I worked actively with current students to ensure they received the correct textbooks for their designated classes, oftentimes using their available financial aid. I was responsible for nightly closures, handling of cash and overall cleanliness of the store.

  • Fort Collins, CO | May 2022 - December 2022

Throughout the summer of 2022, I worked as a fisheries field technician located on a private ranch near Kremmling, Colorado. During this internship I was heavily involved with electrofishing techniques with both backpacking and tote barge forms, PIT tag population estimates, food web sampling using Surber samplers and rock scrubbing, and general fish processing (measuring length and weight, taking fin clips and scales, and completing gastric lavage for diet collection).

  • Fort Collins, CO | January 2022 - May 2022

In this position I worked extensively with incoming and current undergraduate students in the Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation biology Department at Colorado State University. Often this entailed giving students advice, solving scheduling problems, and completing administrative paperwork for the college. I also graded coursework for the New-to-the-Major seminar class for first semester students at CSU.

  • Loveland, CO | August 2020 - November 2020

At this retail position I was primarily responsible for closing Target storefront, by handling nightly cash deposits for their Loveland, Colorado location. Alongside my duties of cash management, I interacted with new and returning customers as a lead cashier. Additionally, managing fellow employees daily break and lunch schedules with large crowds was a primary focal point for this position.

  • Colorado Springs, CO | June 2017 - July 2020

My position at Garden of the Gods was my longest standing retail position, at a little over 3 years at the company. As a sales lead, I was primarily tasked with following opening and closing procedure and creating money deposits at their gift shop. Prior to COVID-19 restrictions, the visitor center saw over 3 million yearly visitors. Most of these customers cycled through the adjacent gift shop, which required deliberate patience and stress-management with such large crowds. I was also responsible for retail merchandising and restocking at this store, as well as training new seasonal staff members.

  • Lawton, OK | August 2016 - June 2017

At Dippon Engineering I served two roles, administrative and creative. The administrative work was centered around front desk receptionist tasks such as answering the phone, as well as filing and sorting paperwork. With my creative position, I was responsible for the upkeep of the company's website and photography for engineering sites. In both roles I worked in both independent and collaborative environments, speaking with potential clientele and engineers.

Volunteer Experience

  • Estes Park, CO | February 2023 - April 2023

Recently I’ve been involved with an ongoing project located in Rocky Mountain National Park to support their Elk & Vegetation Management Program. This role is centered around monthly counts alongside prescribed routes to support population, abundance, and density estimates of elk herds located in and around the park.

  • Fort Collins, CO | March 2022 - Current

Starting in March 2022, I have been involved in a volunteer position with the Biology department at CSU organizing and digitally cataloging their specimen collection. This collection, while not actively being used as research, has been used to teach mammalogy, ornithology, herpetology, and invertebrate biology at this university. At the time of entering this position, the collection had been vastly disorganized and no formal catalog, paper or digital, existed. This required a team of students and faculty to create and manage a working spreadsheet of the current inventory of skins, pelts, skulls, mounts, and more.

  • Fort Collins, CO | August 2022 - Current

This opportunity matches upperclassmen with first-generation or under-represented students to promote community and engagement in the Warner College of Natural Resources at CSU. I’ve served as a non-traditional role working to support both mentors and mentees during weekly meetings.

  • Fort Collins, CO | August 2022 - December 2022

In the Fall of 2022, I was asked to become an undergraduate teaching assistant for the mammalogy lab. This entailed preparing myself for each lab's activities and material, as well as aiding students with questions, especially distinct identification techniques.

  • Colorado Springs, CO | August 2020 - November 2020

At Rocky Mountain Field Institute, I volunteered over 26 hours to help sustain nature trails for the greater Southern Colorado Region. I lifted heavy materials (rocks, boulders, tools, etc.), broke ground for new trail systems, and learned ecosystem restoration techniques primarily to improve rock climbing belay platforms along the famous climbing area Shelf Road.

CSU Online reached out to our crew to film one of our field days at the spectacular Blue Valley Ranch in Kremmling, CO. Below is the promotional video they complied from both our project and many professors and labs that I was able to interact with during my time at CSU. You can see my cameo at around the 1 minute mark!
